Getting the images that make the show is what I'm after. For my client that will make the difference.  That one look, that aircraft , car , footballplayer or cross country skier in that one pose, that one angle. And that is the difference between a good shot , a great shot and a stunning shot. 

Having done airshow and event photograpy for more than a decade I know what both the client and me as a photographer is after.  

For still photograpy I use primerly Canon bodys and L series lenses.  They have served me well over the years and will continue to do so in the future. 

For in cockpit video there is nothing that beats the GoPro line. They fit just about anywhere and quality is second to none.  Placing the GoPros in such a manor that they get the footage, but also flight safety must be the prime factor at all times. And the edit makes for an unforgettable movie for the client. 

Using a drone for aerial photograpy and video has become a vital part of any event and the limits for me as a creator is just my imagination. You don't need to hover a helicopter over the airfield anymore. A drone is much more effective and will often give a better result at a much lower pricepoint.  I use DJI drones for my aerials.  They are small, portable, non invasive and give a fantastic result. and in the end. The result is what it all comes down to
